Greg and Meredith, April 20, 2012

Greg and Meredith were married on April 20th at the beautiful Lake Mary Event Center (www.lakemaryeventscenter.com) and one we won't ever forget. Maybe it was due to how the bridal party and bride arrived.....by RV of course!

It has been the one of the best arrival vehicles we have seen to date and all the decor just topped it off! Her Man of Honor was the chauffeur and what an awesome job he did :) Thank goodness LMEC has plenty of parking space!

Meredith and Greg's big day was beautiful- pouring rain and all. For those who have been to LMEC you know what a beautiful venue it is and how it offers multiple options for ceremony/cocktail hour and reception space. Meredith's plan- outside, God's plan- inside...guess who won?! Inside or out you can't go wrong, the place is stunning and I have to say I think her guests enjoyed the A/C vs. April weather in Florida.

Their ceremony was so beautiful with many little touches throughout and the reception was stunning in their colors of fuschia and black. Floral decor was done by the wonderful Lake Mary Florist (www.lakemaryfloristfl.com), linens provided by Levan's catering and chairs by the wonderful Ann with A Chair Affair (www.chairaffairrentals.com)www.chairaffairrentals.com. They had a wonderful candy bar that served as guests favors created by the amazing Andrea with Simply Sweet Candy Buffet out of Melbourne, Florid and dessert in addition catered by the wonderful Sweet out of Orlando.

The amazing Sweet! www.sweetbyholly.com
Yum! https://www.facebook.com/simplysweetcandybuffet
DJ Phil Joeckel (http://djsoundwave.net/phil-joeckel/) rocked the dance floor all evening  and their big day was captured by the wonderful and talented Paul Joseph Photography out of Melbourne.www.photosbypj.com

These two were just made for each other and you could tell through the entire planning process and especially on their big day.  We loved all the personal touches they created for their wedding and seeing them and their guests smile all evening is why we do what we do!

They ended the evening departing in, you guessed it, the RV of course- members of the bridal party and all for the after party :) Thank you two again for allowing us to play such a special role!

What kept her dancing all night! Thank you Toms!

Stunning!
Remembering her dad she lost a couple months before her big day in such a special way! That large photo is comprised of thousands of tiny different photos...amazing!

The simple things in...weddings!

You know the saying, "its the simple things in life". Well the same can applies to weddings in my opinion. I think some of the most personal touches on events are those that are the most simplest too! It doesnt take hundreds of dollars or even hours of work to put a special touch on something to make it that much more memorable! Our example today is a simple personalized name on a wooden hanger for your bridesmaid dresses (if you are an amazing bride purchasing their dresses as their gift :)) when you present it to them! Not only are you awesome in paying for something they more than likely will only wear one time (though the dresses today are very versatile!)your presenting it to them in a way that shows you took your time in making it memorable for them (as easy as it was!)...an "awwww" moment as they receive it and we all know that its the "awww" moments in life that are remembered :)

Alice in Wonderland...yes please!

No I wouldnt do an Alice in Wonderland theme for your wedding but for your child's birthday...a definite yes! L.I.F.E. Events designs, creates and executes events for all occasions and this weeks post goes to kids parties!

I've always been a fan of Alice in Wonderland and when I came across this photo it was perfect! The perfect blend of bright colors, funky patterns and great texture complete the scene for an awesome kids candy buffet....let alone all the yummy candies!

Add to this invitations in the format of the queen of hearts card and tea for all and your party is almost complete :)

"My business is to create...."

Not only a line from one of my favorite tear jerker movies but pretty much sums up my purpose in life....well what I like to believe is my purpose atleast!

People tend to say that you are either born with the gift or not and I disagree with that. Anyone can be creative, sometimes you just need some guidance :) Thats what I am here for...oh and websites such as pinterest! I give huge thanks to the creators of Pinterest for coming up with such an amazing idea (if only I had thought of it!). Not only has it allowed me to go over budget each month, put on pounds thanks to the amazing recipes posted (especially all the smores recipes...hello!!) but its also turned all my "not-so-crafty" brides into experts leaving me with more work...not so sure why I love sites like this after all :) kidding, kidding! My favorite couples are my creative ones...if you come to me and think you arent you will be after planning with me!

Since I dont think websites such as this are going anywhere for quite a while I figured I'd do some more browsing and then found these.

Something so cute and simple as the "last chance to run" sign will be remembered by many guests for quite a long time and about the easiest thing you could make for your ceremony....and lets add the most important detail, cost effective!

Then a guest book made from rocks...seriously?! Again, not only simple and cheap but most importantly something different and unique and what will have your guests talking.

Your wedding should be a reflextion of your personality as a couple, anything but cookie cutter! Now go on....CREATE!!!!

The world of DIY brides!

It seems that the trend of engaged couples putting their own special touches into their big day increases daily, and why shouldnt it? With all the ideas out there its hard not to get sucked in to DIY world.

The possibilities are ENDLESS! It all started with simple craft stores, then came the magazines then the ultimate websites such as The Knot and my favorite, Pinterest, to help brides dream and dream...and dream even more of what they can do themselves (go figure!) for their big day. One small detail they seem to leave out is how long it will take to create it, and dont forget multiplying that by many, even hundreds depending on how big the wedding is! Not sure if this has helped brides or overwhelmed them?! In the end who cares their wedding will be that much more amazing thanks to their hard work and they'll be satisfied and proud knowing they did it all...besides the labor of setting it all up/taking it down and packing it away...leave that up to L.I.F.E. Events to handle!

Personally I LOVE all the DIY touches I see brides creating to bring their wedding to life and get so excited when I get one that is involved with the DIY world! A big warning to my DIY clients now: I never agreed to keep track of your budget did I?! If I did dont take me shopping with you and add my email to your spam list so you wont get ideas from me :) Then again, when I send ideas Ill also send instructions on how to make it and coupons so you may want to think again on hitting that spam button!

A cute DIY project I found today is so simple but so perfect for the ceremony. I definitely see this placed for an outdoor rustic wedding. To stretch the benefit even more of this DIY you could even transfer this to the cocktail or dinner reception and have guests write messages on it for the newlyweds...in the end get glass cut for a cover and turn it into a forever keepsake to be displayed in your home :)

Stop back in next week for another DIY option for your big day :)

Lauren and Bob

11/11/11.....a very busy day for wedding vendors all over the country...until 12/12/12 hits, then we will all take a break :) There is something about having a date with all the same digits, or is it chosen because you think your spouse wont ever forget your anniversary?! Whatever it is, I like and am a little jealous. I on the other hand will always have to write in "anniversary" on my husbands calendar!

I had the pleasure of working on 11/11 with an amazing couple, Lauren and Bob! Ive known Lauren for quite some time. High school, college classes and other things thrown in between brought us closer and closer and I was so happy the day she called asking for help.

Though she just needed "day of" help I met with them a couple of months out to walk the space and I could tell from that minute how in love they both were with each other and that makes me do what I do..I love "love"....true love! I could tell she had been stressed with items leading up to her big day but she didnt let that stop her remember what this was all about. Im just glad I got to take away all her stress when she needed it most.

Their ceremony was held at Lake Eola and for those who are familiar with downtown Orlando you can imagine all the spectators they had, it was fun to say the least :)

They each arrived on horse and carriage and it was such a beautiful event and Im honored I played a part to make all her dreams come alive!

Some vendors they used:
Ceremony venue: Lake Eola
Ceremony music: Christine, Harpist...so wonderful!
Floral decor: Atmospheres
Reception venue: Embassy Suites Downtown
Entertainment: Sophisticated Gents
Photography: Henk Prinsloo

Just a couple of beautiful photos from the amazing, Henk Prinsloo:
